The safety and health of the Fraternity and Sorority Life community is our top priority. The Student Activities Office will follow the guidelines of the ND Smart Restart as well as the NDSU Guidelines for Fall Events/Activity Planning located on the Dean of Students page. Please be advised, as risk levels change, protocols will also change. In addition to the universal protocols listed on the ND Smart Restart website, some activities that student organizations may wish to engage in are also subject to industry specific standards for large gatherings; banquets, ballrooms, wedding and event venues; restaurants and bars; fitness centers; personal services; and recreational pools and water playgrounds.
The Student Activities Office (SAO) asks that students and other visitors who engage with the Fraternity and Sorority Life community through its facilities, programs, and services, familiarize themselves with the guidelines above and also the practices below to prioritize the health and safety of both the community as well as themselves. While we are taking precautions to prioritize your safety, all risk cannot be eliminated.
If you are experiencing any fever, cough, sore throat, have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, or have traveled internationally in the 14 days previously – please self-isolate and do not engage with the campus community which includes but not limited to visiting members in their personal or chapter houses.
Please bring your own face covering to all events as one must be worn while on-campus.
Maintain social distance staying six feet apart from staff and other students when possible.
Frequently wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds and sanitize your hands upon arrival to the SAO and/or activity and throughout your interactions as appropriate.
We recommend those who are at higher risk due to health concerns avoid participating in unnecessary campus activities and instead to participate in virtual activities until disease risk is reduced.
COVID-19 has presented us all with unprecedented challenges to overcome. While the above guidelines seem more about keeping us apart, the Student Activities Office remains committed to building community by providing inclusive opportunities for student engagement in new and creative ways. Please contact a SAO Team member to discuss how to become engaged in your collegiate experience or if you or your organization have questions on how to navigate through the above guidelines.
