Fraternity & Sorority Life Programs
National Hazing Prevention Week
National Hazing Prevention Week takes place in September each year. This week is used to reinforce a zero tolerance for hazing. Members of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community are able to participate in events to show their support for hazing prevention.
Σnough. was founded as a partnership between Sexual Assault Prevention & Advocacy and Fraternity & Sorority Life to address sexual violence within the fraternity & sorority communities on campus.
Members of the Fraternity & Sorority Life community can apply to be members of Σnough as well as serve on the Executive Board. Members are trained to facilitate critical conversations to fraternities/sororities in our community. Some topics include bystander intervention, consent, and abuse, and power based violence.
Order of Omega
Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations. Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Greek, campus, and local community. To date, over 500 chapters have been chartered throughout North America, each sharing the common goal of recognizing the many outstanding student leaders at their institution.
Members of the Greek community can apply for membership in Order of Omega every semester. Click here for current application. When Order of Omega members graduate they are able to wear a gold stole at graduation recognizing their membership.
Greek Week is traditionally held in the spring semester and has a fun theme. Chapters are split up into teams to compete in numerous events through out the week. Some events include a medallion hunt, The Big Event participation, penny wars, lip sync, banner and photo competition. The Vice President of Events from the Panhellenic Council and the Greek Relations Chair on the IFC Council plan the fun filled week.
Chapters compete in each event for points that go towards the overall total. The team with the most points at the end of the week is pronounced the winner. The winning team is announced at the Greek Awards Ceremony.
